Location: Dublin.

Time – 1 hr 15 each way.

Distance – 6km each way.

Equipment needed – Rain gear, runners, water.

Families: Suitable for buggies.

Rating – 3 stars.

This walk had many beautiful parts and a few dilapidated parts. It also the site where Hamilton came up with his Mathematical theory about Complex Numbers (https://www.irishtimes.com/news/royal-canal-bridge-stands-as-an-old-unique-mathematical-shrine-1.318509). It was easy to navigate and a not very challenging walk on flat ground the whole way. We started at the Twelfth Lock pub and walked as far as Croke Park and returned the same way. We would have given it 2.5 stars but we saw otters for the first time in the wild on this walk, so we gave it an extra half star.
