Bray Head

Location: Co. Wicklow.

Difficulty: Moderate.

Time: 1 hour.

Distance: 1.5km each way.

Equipment: Doable in runners but the ground is quite muddy and rocky so hiking boots would be preferable.

Families: Not suitable for buggies.

Rating: 4.5 stars.

We were blessed with another glorious sunny Winter day so we decided to take on another coastal walk. Bray Head is best enjoyed on a clear day when visibility is at it’s best. The views of the Wicklow mountains, the coastline and the glistening Irish sea are spectacular. It’s a steep walk through trees until you emerge from the woodland to be treated to gorgeous 360 coastal and mountain panoramas. The summit is marked by a giant concrete cross. We took the time to take in the impressive scenery (and catch our breath) at the top before making our way back the same way we came up.
