Bray to Greystones

Location: Co. Wicklow.

Difficulty: Easy.

Time: 1 hour 30 minutes.

Distance: 7km each way.

Equipment: Runners.

Families: Although this walk is relatively flat, it’s crowded and the terrain is uneven so we wouldn’t recommend it for buggies.

Rating: 4 stars.

Caitriona grew up close to Bray so this is a familiar walk for her. It’s a walk that is best enjoyed on a sunny day. After a week with Storm Lorenzo and cold howling winds and driving rain on Saturday, Sunday was surprisingly warm and sunny so we decided to take on the Bray to Greystones walk. It’s a beautiful walk with seaside vistas all the way along. We relished the panoramic views from Greystones all the way to Howth and the blue sea sparkling in the sunshine. The only thing that detracts from the walk is the sheer number of walkers on it – we had to step aside several times on narrow parts of the track to let a troop of scouts or a throng of Spanish tourists pass us. You do have the option to turn back when you reach Greystones but we decided to treat ourselves to some delicious cuisine (and wine) in one of the many cafes and restaurants in the quaint town of Greystones. We then got the DART back to Bray.
