We found this wood on a google search of the best walks in Meath. On the website there’s a map offering 3 options – a long walk, a short walk and a nature walk. There’s no information about distances but we reckoned the long walk would take an hour – how wrong we were! It’s a 30 minute drive from Swords and we spent more time driving to and from the walk than we did walking. And we took our time! We read the nature boards and we took our time admiring the various trees, birds and squirrels. It was a real surprise to us when we were back in the carpark after 30 minutes. It’s a lovely walk but because of it’s shortness we’d only recommend it if you’re local.
